We had just enough of this leather left to create a “Bling” Phone Purse. The process, however, is a little different from our standard build. The key distinction is that this Phone Purse needs to be fully lined, which changes how the piece is constructed from the very first cut.
This leather begins as premium full‑grain hide, then is transformed through a heat‑pressed metallic foil process that is bonded to the natural grain. The result is a brilliant, textured finish that turns every piece into a work of art. However, in the process, the surface of the leather becomes quite pebbled so the underside is left feeling rough. So, we fuse a lining to the leather in order to soften the inside of the purse.
How is the lining bonded to the leather?
The suede lining is carefully glued to the back of the leather, creating a smooth interior and adding structure. Once bonded, the edges are hand-stitched — an important step that ensures the suede stays secure and does not separate, even with daily use. It’s a quiet detail, but one that reflects the care and durability built into every Griffon Creations piece.
